AI Readiness Audit

Know what to build before you buy.

AI spending tends to go wrong at the start, when a tool is bought before anyone has looked at the process it is meant to fix. The audit looks first, then recommends, so your first project is one that earns its keep.

From $1,500

In short

An AI readiness audit is a short, fixed-fee review of how your business runs today, done to decide where AI is worth using and where it is not. FIMM maps your core processes, checks the state of your data and systems, ranks the use cases by value and effort, flags the risk and policy gaps, and delivers a 90-day roadmap with a recommended first pilot. You leave with a plan your team can act on, whether or not we build it.

What we build

What we build.

A

Process inventory

We interview the people who do the work and map where time goes: the re-keying, chasing, searching and copying that quietly eats each week. Every candidate for AI starts from a real task that someone does today.

B

Data and systems review

We look at what you run (CRM, accounting, email, shared drives, line-of-business apps) and how clean and reachable the data is. Weak data can stall an AI project, so we name it early.

C

Ranked use-case shortlist

Each opportunity gets an honest score for value, effort and risk, with a rough estimate of hours saved or revenue protected. The shortlist names the ideas worth pursuing and the ones worth dropping.

D

Tool stack recommendation

We tell you when an off-the-shelf product or a feature you already pay for will do the job, and when custom work is justified. That includes workspace tools like ChatGPT Business, Claude Team, Copilot and Gemini.

E

Risk and policy gaps

We note where customer data, confidential files or regulated information could leak into AI tools, and whether your team has written rules for using them. We provide technical recommendations and do not give legal advice.

F

A 90-day roadmap and pilot plan

The deliverable is a clear document and a walkthrough session: what to do first, who owns it, what it should cost, and how you will know it worked. The first pilot is described in enough detail for any competent team to build.

How it ships

How a readiness audit runs.

A short, fixed-fee engagement with a written deliverable: we look at the work before recommending any tool, and we tell you when the answer is to wait.

01

Kickoff

A working session with the owner and team leads to agree on goals, constraints and the processes in view.

02

Discovery

Short interviews with the people doing the work, plus read-only access to the systems and sample data we need to see.

03

Analysis

We score each opportunity, test the riskiest assumptions against your real data, and draft the roadmap.

04

Readout

A walkthrough of the findings with your leadership, a written report you keep, and time for hard questions.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

What does an AI readiness audit cost?
The audit starts from $1,500 as a one-time fee. It covers the kickoff, the staff interviews, the analysis, the written report and the readout session with your leadership.
What do I actually get at the end?
A written report with your process map, a ranked list of AI use cases, a tool recommendation, the risk and policy gaps we found, and a 90-day roadmap with a defined first pilot. We also walk your leadership through it in a live session.
Do we have to hire FIMM to build what the audit recommends?
No. The roadmap is written so your own team or another vendor can carry it out. If you choose us for the first pilot, the work starts faster because we already know the systems and the people involved.
Will you just recommend more software?
Often the opposite. The right answer may be using features you already pay for, fixing a process before automating it, or cleaning data first. When a custom build is the right call, we explain why a cheaper option will fall short.
How much of our team's time does it take?
Mostly short interviews with the people who do the work, plus a kickoff and a readout with leadership. We keep it light because the point is to learn how work happens without disrupting it.
Is our data safe during the audit?
We ask for read-only access or sample exports, keep them in access-controlled storage, and delete working copies at the end. We do not paste your confidential data into public AI tools at any stage.
We are a Canadian business. Does that change anything?
FIMM is incorporated in Ontario, so you are working with a Canadian company and billing is straightforward. If you plan to apply for AI adoption financing or funding, a written roadmap with a defined pilot is a useful document to bring to that conversation.
