Cloud Cost Audit

Know exactly what your cloud bill buys.

Cloud bills rarely jump; they creep. A test server left running, logs kept forever, a database sized for a launch that never came. We find the spend that does nothing for you and show what is safe to change.

From $999

In short

A cloud cost audit is a structured review of what a company pays its cloud provider and why, aimed at cutting spend without hurting performance or reliability. FIMM reviews AWS and Google Cloud accounts for idle and oversized resources, storage and logging that grow unchecked, data transfer charges and missed commitment discounts. You get a ranked list of savings with the effort and risk of each, and we can apply the fixes for you.

What we build

What we build.

A

Bill and usage review

Every service on your AWS or Google Cloud bill traced to the workload it supports, using billing exports and usage data.

B

Idle and oversized resources

Unused servers, disks, snapshots, IP addresses and load balancers found, plus instances and databases sized well beyond their real load.

C

Storage and logging costs

Lifecycle rules, storage classes and log retention set so old data moves to cheaper tiers or expires on schedule.

D

Data transfer charges

Egress, cross-region and NAT gateway charges traced to their source, with options to cut traffic that never needed to leave the network.

E

Commitment discounts

Advice on AWS Savings Plans, Reserved Instances and Google Cloud committed use discounts, sized to the usage you can actually predict.

F

Architecture changes

Where it pays off, moving workloads to managed services, adding autoscaling, or shutting down non-production environments outside working hours.

G

Budgets and alerts

Cost tags, budgets and anomaly alerts, so the next unexpected increase is spotted within days instead of at month end.

How it ships

How a cost audit runs.

We need read-only billing access to start, and nothing changes in your account until you have approved each recommendation.

01

Access

You grant read-only access to billing and usage data, and we agree which environments are critical.

02

Analyze

We break spend down by service and workload and identify waste, oversizing and missed discounts.

03

Report

A ranked list of savings with the estimated effect, effort and risk of each item, walked through with you on a call.

04

Apply

If you want, we make the approved changes, check performance afterwards and set up ongoing alerts.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

How much will we save?
It depends entirely on how your account has been run, so we do not promise a figure in advance. The report shows the estimated monthly effect of each recommendation, based on your own billing data, so you can see the value before deciding what to change.
Which cloud providers do you audit?
Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, the platforms our team builds and runs software on every day. We review compute, databases, storage, networking, logging and managed services on both.
Do you need access to our production systems?
Only read-only access to billing and resource data for the audit, and we change nothing without your approval. If you ask us to apply fixes, we agree on the access and timing first and test each change.
Will cutting costs affect performance or reliability?
Not if it is done carefully. Each recommendation is labelled with its risk, and changes to production are made gradually with monitoring. Removing idle resources is usually low risk; resizing busy systems is tested first.
What does a cloud cost audit cost?
A cloud cost audit starts from $999 as a one-time fee for a single cloud account. The report is useful on its own: your team can apply the fixes, or we can.
Can you keep costs under control after the audit?
Yes. We set up budgets, tagging and anomaly alerts as part of the work. An optional monthly care plan covers hosting and monitoring, security updates, backups, bug fixes and small changes, and regular cost reviews are available as separate work.
Is this worth it for a small cloud bill?
If your bill is modest and stable, a light review may be enough, and we will tell you so on the first call. The audit makes most sense when spend has grown faster than usage or nobody on the team clearly owns it.
What do we receive at the end of the audit?
A written report listing every finding with its estimated monthly effect, effort and risk, sorted so the quickest safe wins come first. You also get a walkthrough call, and the budgets and alerts we set up stay in your account.
